The government has launched digilocker for securing lot of documents online and safe. digilocker now allows citizens to access their digital Aadhaar. Digital Aadhaar in digilocker is the same as eAadhaar issued by UIDAI.
digilocker has partnered with UIDAI to make it available automatically to its users when they link their digilocker account with Aadhaar. The advantage of digital Aadhaar is that it can now be used in the same way as any other digilocker document.
For linking your digilocker account with Aadhaar, your mobile number must be linked with your Aadhaar number. If your current mobile number is linked with Aadhaar then you can add Aadhaar in your "digilocker"
To add Aadhaar in your "digilocker" you have two process you can use any of them to add the document:-
- Through digilocker official website.
- Through digilocker mobile application.
For both the process you need to have Aadhaar linked mobile number.
How to add Aadhaar through digilocker official website?
If you would like to add the Aadhaar through digilocker official website then you can follow below given steps:-
1 Go to official website
If you would like to add Aadhaar in digilocker then you need to visit on digilocker official website. then click on "Sign In" if you have already created the account and if you have not created the account then you can click on "Sign Up" button given on top right corner.
2 Login to your account
After creating your account you need to login to digilocker account, for that click on "Sign In" button and enter your credentials you can login with the mobile number or username that you have created and then click on "Sign in".
3 Enter your Aadhaar number
After signing in to your account you will get a message that "Your digilocker isn't linked to Aadhaar yet" below that you will be required to enter your Aadhaar number, after entering your Aadhaar number click on tick box "I give my consent" and then click on continue
4 Enter OTP
You will received an OTP on your Aadhaar registered mobile number please wait for some time and check your incoming validity and network connection after receiving OTP on your mobile number enter it and then click on "Continue" button.
Here your Aadhaar is added in digilocker please check "Issued Documents"
How to add Aadhaar in digilocker through digilocker mobile application?
If you would like to add the Aadhaar through digilocker mobile application then you can follow below given steps:-
1 Install Application
To add Aadhaar in digilocker you need to first download the application, if you are an android user then you can download the application through "Play store" and if you are an iPhone user then you can visit the "App Store" to download the application.
2 Sign In or Sign Up
After installing the application you need to "Sign Up" for making your digilocker account for that you need to click on "Get Started" and if you have already Sign Up in digilocker then you can directly Sign In into you account by click on "Get Started".
3 Tap On UIDAI
You need to search for UIDAI to add Aadhaar in your digilocker
4 Tap On "OK"
You will get a pop a window in which you need to click on "OK" to give your consent to digilocker.
5 Enter OTP
You will received an OTP on your Aadhaar registered mobile number please wait for some time and check your incoming validity and network connection after receiving OTP on your mobile number enter it and then click on "Continue" button.
