Linking your PAN card with Aadhaar is compulsory if you want to file your income tax return. You can get your PAN and Aadhaar linked online by following the steps mentioned below:
1 Go to official website
To link your Pan with your Aadhaar you need to visit income tax India official website.
2 Click on "Link Aadhaar"
After visiting the official on the home page you will get lots of link on the left side of the page, you need to click on "Link Aadhaar" link to proceed further.
3 Enter PAN number
To link your PAN card with your Aadhaar you need to fill some details first you need to enter your PAN number.
4 Enter Aadhaar number
After entering your pan number you need to enter your Aadhaar number.
5 Enter your Name
Now you need to enter your Name as per your Aadhaar card please check the spelling of Name after entering as it might get rejected if Name on Aadhaar did not matched with the Name you have given.
6 Mark tick if have only year of birth
If you have only year of birth in your Aadhaar card then you can mark tick on box and if you have your full date of birth in your Aadhaar card then you don't need to click on the box.
7 Click to agree to validate your details
You need to click on "I agree to validate my Aadhaar details with UIDAI"
8 Send request to link Aadhaar with PAN
After filling all the details you need to click on "Link Aadhaar" button but before that you need to enter the Captcha code if you are not visually challenged and if you are visually challenged then you need to click on Request OTP in which you need enter your contact number on which you want to receive the OTP. Follow below given steps:-
1 Enter captcha code if not visually challenged
Enter the code that is showing in the image if you are unable to read the captcha then you can click on reload button.If you are not visually challenged then you can direct click on "Link Aadhaar".
2 Request OTP if visually challenged
If you are visually challenged then you can Request for OTP, for that you need to click on "Request OTP" after that you need to enter mobile number on which you want to receive OTP then click on "Link Aadhaar" button.
9 Aadhaar is linked with PAN
If your Aadhaar is already linked with PAN then you will receive a message on your screen that your PAN is already linked with Aadhaar and if your Aadhaar is not linked with your PAN then you can continue to follow below given steps.
10 Click on continue
An OTP has been sent on your given mobile number you need to click on continue to enter OTP.
11 Enter OTP
Enter OTP that you have received on the mobile, you need to be care full before entering the OTP as you have only 3 attempt to enter the OTP, after entering the OTP click on "validate" button.
Your request has been sent to UIDAI for validation of Aadhaar
Check Aadhaar and Pan link status
After completing the above process you can check your request status for that you need to follow below given steps
1 Go to link Aadhaar status
To check the status of your request you need to visit theLink Aadhaar Status Page.
2 Enter your Aadhaar and Pan number
Now you need to enter your Aadhaar and Pan number.
